I’m innocent, says Najib’s wife
Rosmah says she has nothing more to say in connection with blogger’s allegation as she had given her statement to police
KUALA LUMPUR: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of the deputy prime minister, said yesterday she was innocent of the allegation against her in a statutory declaration made by a blogger relating to a murder.
She also said she had nothing more to say on the matter as she had given her statement to the police.
“I have nothing to say.
“I have given my statement to the police. That’s it,” she said when approached by reporters after she had officiated the Asia-Pacific Conference on Children’s Book Publishing 2008.
Malaysia-Today blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin, in a recent statutory declaration posted on his website, had alleged that Rosmah was one of three people present at the scene when the body of a Mongolian woman, Altantuya Shaariibuu, was blown up with explosives on Oct 19, 2006.
Following the posting of the allegation, a special investigation team from the federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman recorded a statement from Rosmah at her residence.
Asked whether she would sue Raja Petra for defamation, Rosmah said she did not want to address unnecessary issues because she had many other things to attend to for the sake of the people and nation.
“It doesn’t matter. If (you are) innocent, what is there (for you) to address all these allegations.
“I am not a politician. I am just the wife of a politician,” she said.
Raja Petra had named the two other persons at the murder scene as one acting colonel, Aziz Buyong, whom he described as a C4 explosive expert, and Aziz’s wife Norhayati, who he said was Rosmah’s aide-de-camp (ADC).
Rosmah pointed out that Norhayati was not her ADC.
“Norhayati was the officer who did all my programmes, and she is not with me now.
“She got promoted and went back to the Ministry of Defence,” she said.— Bernama
