ENGKILILI: The Chinese community in Lubok Antu have been called to give their full support to Lubok Antu MP William Nyalau in the upcoming parliamentary election.
Making the call was Engkilili assemblyman Dr Johnical Rayong who said the Chinese community should not be swayed by the opposition which could lead to disarray within the multiracial community in Lubok Antu.
“The Barisan Nasional government is always on a neutral stand in upgrading the livelihood of the community regardless of race,” he said at a Chinese New Year dinner organised by the Hakka Association at Lubok Antu community hall on Sunday.
He said Nyalau who won the seat in 2008, is more experienced to lead the whole community towards better development.
“Lubok Antu including Engkilili have enjoyed several development projects since he (Nyalau) became MP,” said Rayong.
Meanwhile, Rayong together with Nyalau later handed a minor rural project grant amounting to RM5,000 to the association’s chairman Lai Nyi Tat.
