Wasan vocational school acting principal appointed to SE Asian Center Governing Board
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Saiful Rizal bin Haji Marali, Acting Principal of Wasan Vocational School, Ministry of Education was recently appointed as country representative of Brunei Darussalam to the Governing Board (GB) of the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) based in the Philippines, Borneo Bulletin reported.
According to a press release, Saiful’s appointment is for three years effective December 1, 2012. He succeeded Denis Ho Mun Tai, Acting Assistant Director, Department of Technical Education, Ministry of Education.
The GB is SEARCA’s highest policymaking body. It is composed of representatives from each of the 11 Southeast Asian countries who are nominated by their respective Ministers of Education and appointed by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMEO) Council.
Headed by Dr Gil C Saguiguit, Jr, SEARCA is mandated to provide capacity-building interventions to address the agricultural and rural development needs of Southeast Asia.
