KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional (BN) has now made it their priority to focus solely on helping the people.
In fact, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said BN leaders have no time to dwell on the lies and rumours spread by the opposition, who continuously try to distract the people by promising ‘the moon and the stars’ with their empty promises.
“We have many more development plans for the people and the state, and believe me, only BN has proven its ability to develop Sabah, and we have a good track record as evidence,” he said, during the Barisan 1Malaysia gathering at Wisma Muis here yesterday.
Also present were Umno Information chief Datuk Ahmad Maslan, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Yahya Hussin, Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun and other cabinet ministers and Sabah BN leaders.
Musa, who is also the Sabah BN chief, added that there is no reason for the present government to be replaced just because of the call by the opposition party.
“The opposition have been badmouthing the Government, but they forget that the opposition leaders did not fall from heaven….they are in fact recycled leaders.
“Their call to change the Government is just an act to attract the people’s attention, but it is a waste of time because Malaysians in Sabah are not easily fooled, they are smart and mature, and know what is best for them.
“We know that the opposition have been going in and out of villages. They are trying to influence the people. But we must realise that whatever change that should happen, it should involve good government.
“The opposition keeps forgetting that their leaders are the ones who are there just waiting for good deals, who like to jump from one party to another. So do not underestimate that the people of Sabah are not smart enough to evaluate these leaders,” he said.
Musa also stressed that BN is a transparent government, and always ready to accept any views from the people to make this state a better place to live in for all.
“We welcome suggestions from the people. Do not be afraid to come forward and share your views and if the proposals are good, and would benefit the people and state as a whole, we will accept and take into consideration because the BN government is determined and focused in its struggle, and that it to help the people,” he said.
Musa said the country is blessed to have a credible and good leader like Datuk Najib Tun Razak as the prime minister.
“While the opposition are causing unrest through Bersih 1.0 and Bersih 2.0, the BN government is busy distributing assistance to those in need through BR1M 1 and BR1M 2. This is a clear difference between the ruling government and an ambitious party,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Maslan told reporters after the launching ceremony that the event will be carried out across the nation, beginning here and ending in Perlis.
“This programme involves the non-governmental organisations and government agencies. This is also part of our effort to introduce the government policies and what are being done by the government for the people. We want the NGOs to understand and be aware of the programmes implemented by the government,” he said.
He said that the dialogue session has attracted at least 350 NGOs involving some 2,000 participants.
