KOTA KINABALU: Invitation is open to young lasses in Sabah to join in the Sabah Model Search 2010.

With the mission to also promote Sabah’s diverse culture through fashion, international model Cassandra Patrick believes the event will also offer participants a step forward towards achieving their dreams.

“Sabah Model Search 2010 is one of the most prestigious modelling competitions held in Sabah, where dreams come true for finalists to kick start their career as professional models,” she said at a press conference here yesterday.

The contest is organised by the Foxyproduction, who was founded by Patrick, with Miss Borneo Tourism Queen International 2009 Stella Matilda Lai as the managing director.

Cassandra said auditions would be held at Perkasa Hotel in Keningau on March 20 before making its last stop here the next day at the Asiah Hall, Level 11 of the Imperial International Hotel.

“Invitation is opened to single girls between the ages of 18 and 25. The audition is held from 11am to 4pm,” said Cassandra.

She disclosed that the search for potential models was also held in Tawau and Sandakan last week, and the response was very encouraging.

“We hope to find 14 finalists who will be vying for the top three spots on April 17. The winners will then represent Sabah for the Miss Malaysia Model of the World 2010 to be held in Ipoh, Perak,” she said.

The winners will take home cash and prizes worth RM20,000, which among others include the winning trophy, a sash, a year’s modelling contract with Foxyproduction, professional modeling portfolio by Velocity Studio Kuala Lumpur and return tickets to the national level competition.

Cassandra said the grand finale would be held at the Magellan Ballroom, Sutera Harbour Resort.

Tickets are sold at RM75 each.

An exclusive appearance will be organised on April 10 at the Cock and Bull, Jesselton Point from 8pm onwards, followed  by  the Sabah Model Search 2010 Finalists  Fashion Show on April 11 at the Suria Sabah Concourse Area (12.30pm  onwards) and Body Beautiful Competition Night on April 13 at B E D Cub (7.30pm onwards).
