KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Associated Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MAICCI) has urged entrepreneurs to make use of the funding opportunities provided by the government. Its president Datuk K K Eswaran said the government has been providing funding to help the business sector but most entrepreneurs were not aware of the opportunities available.
“There are lots of ways to get the funding. We must grab the opportunities available,” he told reporters after the chamber’s management council meeting here yesterday.
Eswaran said the government funds were provided through various channels like Credit Guarantee Corporation, SME Corp and other agencies under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
“I am pleading to the entrepreneurs, especially youths, to seek the help of government agencies to apply for the loans,” he said.
On the government’s RM2 million allocation to MAICCI, Eswaran said the chamber would submit a paper to the Prime Minister’s Department early January.
He said the allocation would be used to train Indian entrepreneurs to acquire appropriate skills and succeed in their businesses. — Bernama
