SIBU: The Sessions Courts here yesterday visited fifteen locations where gangsters were alleged to have brought their victim to.

The visiting party were the presiding judge Dean Wayne Daly, deputy public prosecutor Robert Pasang Alam and defence counsels Orlando Chua and Jacob Wong.

They were accompanied by the investigating officer DSP Wong Chee Kiong, all the accused concerned – the gang leader and his seven cohorts – and the victim, Kueh Chiow Huat alias Ah Huat. Police in several cars escorted the party.

It took more than two hours to complete the visit to the 15 alleged crime scenes which included the victim’s site office in Sungai Antu, his house in Jalan Lai Chee, Scrap Metals, Jalan Wong King Huo, Mathew’s house, Ah Lek’s house, Lee Long’s house and three coffeeshops – two in Jalan Pahlawan and another in Permai, opposite Sibu Hospital.

According to Robert Pasang, the alleged crime scenes were visited on the request of all the parties concerned so as to get a clearer picture of the happenings and to affirm the existence of the scenes.

Lee Long together with seven of his cohorts is facing eight criminal charges under the Penal Code.

The charges range from causing grievous hurt under Sections 324 and 325, to wrongful confinement  (Section 365) and gang robbery (Section 395).

Indicted with Lee Long are Wee Teck Hong @ Ah Lek, 40, Yong Ching Lung @ Chi Lung, 22, Yong Kie Teck @ Noney, 37, Hii Chie Peng @ Tua Tao, 35, Lau Ang Ho @ Ang Ho, 30, Matthew Soong Chan Chen @ Matthew, 32, and Wong Kong Yew @ Monkey, 30.

Hearing has been adjourned to Jan 5   at 2.30am.
