The integrated campaign involving all police departments started yesterday, and it is carried out with the co-operation of the town’s Rela unit and the Neighbourhood Committees (JKRT).

They started off by distributing anti-crime leaflets to the residents in the morning followed by patrols in the town area by Rela members and in Taman Susur Jambu and Kampung Seberang by the respective Neighbourhood committees.

District police section heads present during the simple launch of the campaign along Jalan Abdul Rahman included  Chief Inspector Jeffery Guhak of Traffic and Public Order, Chief Inspector Mohd Ibrahim Abdullah (Special Branch), Chief Inspector Jefferson Wilfred (Narcotics) and Chief Inspector Jonathan Nyangga (Officer in-charge of police station).

In view of the current long school holiday, the police officers advised the people to follow the recommended anti-crime measures to ensure their homes were safe, especially when they were away on holiday or back to their kampung.

Should they leave their houses unattended during the holidays, they should inform the police so that regular patrols could be arranged in their area, he said.

Besides, the public were also advised to follow all the measures outlined in the leaflet distributed to them.
