KUCHING: The Health Inspectors’ Union of Sarawak Health Department (KIKJKS) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Great Eastern Life (GEL) for a new group insurance scheme for its members. The new scheme can be extended to members’ spouse and children.
KIKJKS has appointed Raymond Chin to be the full-time representative for the scheme and he will be representing KIKJKS to do the sale and after sale services for the members.
The new scheme is similar to Cuepacs Group Scheme (Cuepacs Life Care).
The advantage of the new scheme is that there is a Sarawak-based representative who will do the servicing on claims and problems faced by the members.
During the signing of the memorandum of understanding between KIKJKS and GEL, Chin said the Group Multiple Benefits Insurance Scheme (GMBIS) was specially designed for members of an organisation in providing a voluntary insurance benefit which covers their members’ financial protections and retirement saving.
At very competitive and affordable premium, the comprehensive insurance plan covers protection against the following unfortunate events such as loss of life, accidental death, total and partial permanent disability, 36 critical illness, funeral expenses and hospital benefits.
Chin also said with the strong support from union members, they will be able to submit more than 500 proposal forms during their road show in order to enjoy the benefits of free underwriting for their members.
According to KIKJKS president Samuil Ashton-Satu, the insurance scheme is one of the cheapest schemes in the market with comprehensive coverage.
He encouraged all KIKKJS members to have at least minimum coverage.
Samuil hoped members of KIKJKS would give strong support and trust the new group insurance scheme, adding the authorised group scheme representative would give briefing to members about the scheme at different stations as scheduled.
