Public asked to help identify body in river

SIBU: A body found floating in the Rejang River at Telok Banyok on Tuesday afternoon by Sarawak Rivers Board personnel on a routine patrol has not been identified yet.The body without head, hands and legs was believed to be that of a woman who died three weeks ago.

Police are investigating and attempting to find the identity of the deceased, Sibu District police chief, ACP Shafie Ismail told reporters during a press conference held at Sib District Police Headquarters yesterday.
“We want anyone who might have missing family members to lodge a police report immediately,” he said.

Shafie said the case has been classified as sudden death.
