KUALA LUMPUR: Britain has deported three Malaysians, including two women, who were caught on Oct 16 for working illegally in a Chinese restaurant in Nottinghamshire.All three in their thirties were sent back to Malaysia within a week of their arrest at the Good Good Chinese Cantonese Takeaway, according to a British High Commission statement.
The man is aged 35 and one of the women is his 35-year-old fiancee.
Their names were not given.
They were among four foreigners rounded up in the raid by immigration officers.
The fourth person was a Chinese national.
The statement said the restaurant might face a fine of up to 40,000 British pounds (RM224,000).
“We have caught dozens of illegal workers in the county over the last few months and have fined companies tens of thousands of pounds for hiring illegal labour,” Phil Dyer, head of UK Border Agency’s East Midlands local immigration team was quoted as saying.
