The noodles are for NMSC’s free virtual colonoscopy project.

“These noodles are given to patients for bowel preparation before they go for their virtual colonoscopy screening,” explained NMSC medical director Dr Ching Hin San.

Noodles will leave a low amount of residue in the intestines, which is vital for those undergoing this screening to detect colorectal tumours in its early stages.

This is a prevention step offered to healthy Malaysians around the age of 50.

Dr Ching said the response to the free virtual colonoscopy has been overwhelming.

“Our target was 400, but we have double the number signing up for it,” he said.

The free virtual colonoscopy, which was announced in August, is made possible with the collaboration of the Laila Taib Cancer Charitable Trust.

The usual cost of this new methodology is about RM800.

The screening is part of the medical centre’s corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Kinetic Food is a member of KTS Group.
