Other factors such as fear of getting new technology, increasing complexity of the IT system and high start-up cost would also assist the technology solutions provider.

“We are targetting US$100,000 to US$200,000 in sales per month for our products and services in Sarawak. As for the South East Asia market, our target is US$15 million (RM513 million),” he said.

“We are here to provide technology solutions to businesses and the community besides engaging our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme to enhance the Information, Communication and Technology sector in Sarawak,” he told a press conference after launching the Celframe Office software at a leading hotel here yesterday.

He said AVP a security consultancy and, products and services company for both home and office environments offered its products and services at affordable rates and was committed to providing sustainable technology solutions to clients.

He added that among the products available are Kaspersky Lab (anti-virus software), Celframe Office (office productivity suite with 11 applications), IPBrick (integrated server system), Cyberoam (Unified Threat Management appliances) and Altai ( wireless broadband solutions).

He added that Kaspersky Lab is the leading technology solution in protecting against technology threats such as spyware, crimeware, hackers, phishing and spam.

He explained that Celframe Office is an alternative for Microsoft Office where the software is installed with additional features which include Corel Draw and Adobe Photoshop.

He further elaborated that it was ideal for use in the office and home besides having more protection and offered at a much lower rate than Microsoft Office.

“Celframe Office has better security than Microsoft Office and it is offered at a much lower rate which is 80 per cent to 85 per cent lower than Microsoft Office,” he said

He also said all the software that are distributed by the company are fully licensed. On the other hand, AVP product manager Sivaganesh Sivagnanam said the features available in Celframe Office are unique and more advanced.

“With Celframe Office, end-users can create a document, set a password and conditions to the document so that others cannot access them. Besides that, end-users can also use the templates to create professional presentation so it saves time and the end-user does not have to start from scratch. It is very simple to use and it can be paperless, he said.

“As for IP Brick, it operates on a fax to e-mail and e-mail to fax mode where end-users can share documents easily,” he added.

He also said the Celframe Office software can operate with different platforms where its word processing application, Celframe Write, can also open a document saved in Microsoft Word.

He added that Celframe Office has built-in functions to export documents to Adobe PDF format, export documents to Google online for collaboration with built in eFax options. Celframe Office also has built-in backup for documents and mail with automatic recovery features.

Meanwhile, Sevaraja said they have identified a few products that are targetted to serve the niche markets.

In addition, he said its AVP Entrepreneur Programme provides free sales, technical and certification training for those who are interested to involve themselves in a career in ICT.

He also said AVP is collaborating with the Government to roll out a job attachment programme early next month to enable graduates and those who are unemployed especially from the IT field to gain employment at the firm.
