WAS exponents to see action in Penang

KUCHING: Wushu Association of Sarawak (WAS) will send a team for the National Day martial arts tournament in Penang from December 27-29.

The team, comprising five boys and five girls, will be led by team manager Ngu Moh Ngi and coach Ling Ung Hee.

Sukma, national and international medallists are not allowed to participate.

WAS, which has not set any target, is hoping the team will return with some medals. It is also using the tournament to scout for talents.

The association recently held a seminar for judges and coaches at Civic Centre here from November 19-20. A total of 24 participants attended.

The seminar was to prepare the judges and coaches for the state championship, jointly organised by WAS and Sarawak State Sports Council, from December 9-10.
