Bintulu Port expects over RM400 mln in net profits

SANTUBONG: Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad is expected to achieve profits after tax exceeding RM400 million this year.

Its director Tan Sri Dato Sri Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin said this was based on the steady growth made thus far.

If the RM400 million mark is achieved, it would eclipse the performance for the past three years, which saw profits after tax of between RM300 million and RM350 million.

“If everything goes on well, and if the global financial crisis doesn’t hit us, we could be achieving profits after tax exceeding RM400 million,” he said at the closing of the 4th Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd versus State Secretary of Sarawak Team Friendly Golf Tournament yesterday.

More than 40 players competed in the tournament, which saw the State Secretary team retaining the title for the fourth consecutive time.

Zahidi handed over the challenge trophy to team captain State Secretary Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot. Deputy State Secretary Datuk Morshidi Ghani also bagged the best individual score trophy.
