KOTA SAMARAHAN: The fate of 28-year-old Jumain Mushidi from Kampung Beliong has been revealed after he was reported missing for almost two days.
He was found dead in a nearby river believed due to drowning.
Sources said that Jumain was last seen hanging out with friends at one of stalls in the village about 6pm last Friday.
He then left without telling friends where he was going.
When he did not return home that night his family became worried.
A search, with the help of villagers, was subsequently conducted, but to no avail, until yesterday.
A villager spotted the bloated body in a nearby river about 7am yesterday, and informed the family who immediately rushed to the scene.
The police also came after being told of the find to conduct an investigation, which revealed that the victim’s wallet, cigarette pack and handphone were still in his trousers’ pockets.
The police then brought the remains to the Sarawak General Hospital for a post mortem.
The family later claimed the remains for burial.
