KUCHING: Diners purchasing two drinks from the ALVIN range of products at The Food Gallery at Tun Jugah Shopping Mall here will be rewarded with another drink for free.

This is the deal diners will receive when they patronise The Food Gallery during its Merdeka Promotion Month starting this Friday (Aug 1).

Jointly organised by ALVIN’s drinks manufacturer Air Mata Kuching Industries Sdn Bhd and Food Gallery, Merdeka Promotion Month is being held in conjunction with the Merdeka Day on Aug 31.

Air Mata Kuching Industries director Alvin Lim told reporters here yesterday that four drinks namely Air Mata Kuching, Black Soya Bean Milk, Chrysanthemum Tea and Green Tea will be covered under the promotion.

“All these are produced from traditional herbs, and consumers can be rest assured that there are no artificial colouring, flavouring and preservation, thus making them the perfect choice for healthy-conscious people,” he said, adding that each drink is sold at RM2 each.

To another matter, Lim said the drinks have received tremendous response ever since they were marketed five years ago.

“Presently, all products are available from most major supermarket outlets.

Other participating outlets in this ‘Buy 1 Free 1’ promotion are Boulevard Food Court Kuching, Star Cineplex Kuching, Wisma Wan Tabuan Jaya, Upwell Jalan Song and Top Spot Food Court, Taman Kereta here,” he said.

Meanwhile, Food Gallery manager Justin Anderson Kueh said there are currently 12 food stalls operating at the premises, selling delicacies ranging from Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Western, Malay and local favourites.

A new stall selling delicacies originating from Penang is also expected to commence next month.

“We have about 300 different types of food and drinks to choose from our menu,” he said, adding that Food Gallery is also one of the very few pork-free food courts available in Kuching.

To a question, Kueh said about 80 per cent of its clientele are Bumiputeras although he expects things to change once the Merdeka promotion kicks off.

“With effect from the month of August, we will be providing delivery service for the convenience of all occupants of Tun Jugah Mall.

“To serve our customers better, we have recently upgraded our points-of-sale system. We have also installed our food court with the latest ventilation and exhaust system to provide a cool and pleasant ambience so that patrons can enjoy their food and drinks in comfort,” he said.
