MIRI: Nolan Chee was crowned the champion of champions at the Mr Sarawak 2008 contest here yesterday.

The 41-year-old bodybuilder from Kuching outflexed musclemen from Sibu, Miri as well as his hometown to lift the overall title from six categories contested.

Nolan also won the light middleweight category in an earlier posedown.

In the junior category, another Kuching competitor Dexter Bong emerged the champion ahead of Cornelius Olwint from Sibu.

Thian Yik Shen and Mohd Aidil Talip, both from Miri, finished third and fourth.

In the masters category, Miri veteran George Polo was the winner with Chia Soon Cheong the runner-up.

The flyweight category went to Kuching’s Densi Runya with Lian Tipa from Miri in second place.

Annuar Bakri from Miri and Davis Galeh finished third and fourth.

International Trade and Industry Deputy Minister Datuk Jacob Dungau Sagan gave away the prizes.

Miri Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Association chairman Julian Jolly and former Mr Asia Liaw Teck Liong were among those present.
