Lee beats Oh by one stroke in Group A Gross
KUCHING: Lee Kah Ming edged last month’s winner Oh Se Joon into second with just a stroke in this month’s Cash Sweep KGS Monthly Medals Group A Gross (handicap 18 and below) category.
A press release yesterday said Lee carded a 75 while Oh could only manage a 76. Oh carded a 71 to win last month.
Sarawak Golf Club (KGS) hosted the event on Saturday which was played over the Santubong and Matang Nines.
In third place was Abdul Aziz Sahari with 80 while Lu Su Ket was fourth a stroke behind.
In the Nett section, first place went to Abang Ibrahim Salleh with 67, followed by Lee Boon Fui and Tieh Teck King, both with 72 and decided on countback. Lee Boon Fui was placed fourth in Group A Gross section last month with his score of 82 ocb.
Over in Group B (handicap 19-36), Mohd Bedrie took first place in the Nett section with his score of 67 followed by Justin Lai Tze How one stroke behind. Lai was also placed second in this section in May’s event but his score then was 70.
Coming in third was Mohd Nur Aiman with a 72 with Chong Kok Hiong fourth with a 73.
In the Group B Gross section, James Sung came first with a 86, with Ricky Guing second eight strokes behind. Ricky was placed second in Group B Nett section in last month’s event when he carded a 69. Third place went to Loong Seh Kiong with a 95.
Cash Sweep is the main sponsor for the KGS Monthly Medals competition which offers RM20,000 worth of prizes for any golfer scoring a hole-in-one feat. The next tournament is scheduled for August 24 and golfers are invited to contact KGS to register their participation for the upcoming event.
