Divers sweep seven golds

Sarawak divers lived up to expectations by sweeping seven golds, taking two more golds, a silver and a bronze on the final day yesterday.

Olympian Brian Nickson Lomas, who had won the first gold from the synchronised diving with Zibeon Uzza Beleng on the first day, won his second gold with ease when he scored a total of 478.75 points in the men’s 3M springboard.

Second-placed Ahmad Fakhri of Selangor was far behind with 319.85 while teammate Pardika Indoma won the bronze with 311.30.

Sarawak secured their second gold of the day in the 3M springboard — a one-two finish when Elizabeth Jimie had to fend off the challenge from Gracie Junita.

Elizabeth outperformed her synchronised partner scoring a total of 319 points to pick the gold while Gracie had to be satisfied with the silver with 266.55.

Penang’s Jessly Yeoh finished with the bronze with a total score of 219.90 – the same score with Ng Yap Kee from Wilayah Persekutuan.
